Description |
Adiponectin is an adipose-derived secreted protein that influences the body?s response to insulin. Adiponectin belongs to the soluble defence collagen super family and is involved with the promotion of adipocyte differentiation, fatty acid catabolism, and insulin resistance. Recombinant adiponectin is a multimeric glycoprotein that also has anti-inflammatory effects on the cell lining of blood vessel walls. High blood levels of adiponectin are associated with reduced risks of heart attacks while low levels are associated with obesity and an increased risk of heart attacks. |

The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70?C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2? – 8?C for one month, or at -20?C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. |
